Our sweet Sophia entered the world as one half of our miracle twin girls. From the very beginning, she has shown us what strength looks like.

During pregnancy, we learned that Sophia had Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a congenital heart defect that affects the way blood flows through the heart. Tetralogy of Fallot is a condition where four differences in the heart’s structure affect how blood moves through the body. These include a hole between the heart’s lower chambers (a ventricular septal defect), pulmonary stenosis which is narrowing of the pathway that allows oxygen rich blood to flow to the lungs, changes in the position of the aorta, and thickening of the heart muscle as it works harder to pump blood.

Because of these differences, babies with TOF may not get enough oxygen-rich blood flowing through their bodies. Every baby with TOF is unique, and the severity can vary from child to child. Many children with TOF go on to live full, active lives after surgical repair, but their journey begins with a team of doctors, nurses, researchers, and loved ones surrounding them with support.
While hearing Sophia’s diagnosis was overwhelming, we quickly learned that her heart is just as strong as her spirit. Sophia has already amazed us with her resilience. She is a happy, loving baby who has filled our lives with so much joy in just these few months.

As Sophia prepares for her open-heart surgery, we are surrounded by an incredible community of family, friends, and heart warriors who remind us that we are never walking this journey alone.

We created the Team Sophia Collection as a way to bring our community together and to give everyone who loves Sophia a way to stand beside her, whether they are near or far.

This journey is bigger than Sophia. Thousands of babies are born each year with congenital heart defects and face their own journeys. That is why all proceeds from Team Sophia will be donated to the Rady Children's Heart Institute to support research, education, and hope for other heart warriors and their families.
